The only ghost I ever saw
„The only ghost I ever saw“ intertwines fragments of Emily Dickinson’s poetry with analog black-and-white photographs. These photographs were taken in 2024 during my Artist Residency at the SÍM Residency in Reykjavik, Iceland. The core themes of the work revolve around making the absent visible and delving into states of liminality and in-betweenness. It is an approach that seeks to visualize notions of proximity and distance, while also questioning what remains when something is no longer present.
The work consists of 44 silver gelatin prints which are on display in an installative hanging arrangement. The number and selection vary.
The sizes of the photographs are 18 x 13 cm and 24 x 18 cm.
